Jelili calls for unity as Alimosho APC holds LGA meeting

THE Executive Chairman of the Alimosho Local Government Area, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has called on all members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the council area to unite for the progress and development of the party.

This call was made at the LGA meeting of the party on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Abati Primary School, Akowonjo, where party members from all works of life came in their numbers to deliberate on important party matters.

The council Boss stated that the lack of effective unity has allowed bad elements to penetrate the party structure thereby making it weak. He added that the same lack of unity made the LGA miss so many benefits, including State appointments.

He also stated that one major problem that widened the disunity further is the fact that party opportunities available are too small to go around, adding that it will continue to be small if there’s a lack of unity for a better future.

Also speaking at the event, the Convener and LGA party Chairman, Hon. Tosin Fatoki, called on all members to work together to prevent a type of occurrence that led to the suspension of some members.

Other party chieftains in attendance include the party leaders, and political office holders, including the Vice-Chairman, Hon. Akinpelu Johnson; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Dare Ogunkoya; and the Leader of the House, Hon. Ahmed Obadina, among others.
