THE Executive Chairman of the Alimosho Local Government Area, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon, has kicked off the Year 2025 budget retreat themed ‘Budget for Sustainable Growth and Development’.
The retreat, held at Keems Hotel and Suites, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, gathered the management staff to assess the Year 2024 budget and project the Year 2025 budget, following recommendations and suggestions given to them at the budget stakeholders forum.
Declaring the retreat open, the council Boss affirmed that through the support of the management, he has contributed immensely to the development of the Local Government in all areas, including health, infrastructure, medicine, education, human development, environment, etc. since he assumed leadership.
He added: “The process of development, however, does not have an end. As a result, sustaining the development, especially by whoever comes after him, is very crucial.”
He consequently appreciated the support he received from the management and pledged his support to whoever assumed the position after him.
The resource person, Mr Agoro also advised that the budget must reflect the yearnings of the people and since one of the major challenges is finance, ensuring that the Local Government has a robust Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, is crucial.
