THE Super Falcons of Nigeria have retained their spot as the best women's football team in Africa, according to the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.
The Super Falcons, who are the 36th best team globally, have continued to dominate on a continental level, holding on strongly to their status as number one in Africa.
South Africa, who dropped one place, rank second in Africa at 54th globally, followed by Ghana at 65th and then Morocco, who moved up to third in Africa, now ranked 60th, while Zambia rounds out the top five after dropping two spots to 64th.
At the global level, the United States retain its position as the world's best women's team, followed by current world champions Spain,Germany, England, and Japan complete the top five, with Japan being the only team to change positions, moving up three spots.
