Pep confirms De Bruyne to remain at Man City

The prolific midfielder has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer with teams in the Middle East, which include Al-Ittihad interested in the 33-year-old.

MANCHESTER City boss, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne will remain in the club ahead of next season despite interest from Saudi Arabia.

The prolific midfielder has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer with teams in the Middle East, which include Al-Ittihad interested in the 33-year-old.

However, Pep Guardiola speaking ahead of their pre-season camp noted that the Belgium captain will remain in the club ahead of next season. He said: “No, Kevin is not leaving.”

“Until the last day, we have chances to change the squad, I don’t rule out the option to have new players but if anyone leaves... I think 85/90/95% we will have the same squad.”

De Bruyne, despite missing the first half of last season due to injury came back as he helped City make history with a fourth successive Premier League title.

He has been with City since joining from Wolfsburg in 2015, winning 15 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and one Champions League crown.
