FIVE-time Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear that he is not obsessed with hitting the 1000-goal mark for club and country.
The current Al Nassr and former Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus superstar has already hit 923 goals from 1261 games in his career so far.
While many fans are waiting for him to hit the 1000 mark, the player, who remains the only footballer in history to have scored over 900 official goals is not obsessed with it.
Speaking to El Chiringuito, however, Ronaldo said the talk of reaching 1000 goals was getting a "bit annoying."
“If I could achieve it, it would be great… but I’m not obsessed with it. It’s getting a bit annoying to talk about,” Ronaldo said (via journalist Fabrizio Romano’s X handle).
In the 150 years of football's existence, only 24 players have managed to hit the back of the net 500 times or more in their careers. Out of them, only four are currently active — Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Luis Suarez, and Ronaldo.
