SUPER Eagles of Nigeria star, Alex Iwobi has been offered a new five-year contract extension deal by Everton after a series of impressive performances.

The Hale End Academy graduate joined the Toffees from his boyhood club, Arsenal in 2019 for a fee in the region of £39 Million, and at first had difficulties settling down but has now found his place under the leadership of Frank Lampard.

Everton is holding contract talks with the 26-year-old and his camp and the midfielder could put pen to paper on a fresh five-year contract if terms can be agreed upon.

Things might not eventually go according to Everton's way, as Ligue 1 side, Monaco has been reported to be monitoring the versatile player as they could make a swoop for him when the transfer window opens in January or June 2023.

Iwobi’s decision remains uncertain as he would have a better chance of featuring in the UEFA Champions League with Monaco than Everton. His appearance in the keenly-contested League game is surely of priority and importance to him.

Alex Iwobi leads the club's assists chart with six in all competitions so far this season, including five to his name in the Premier League.
