The Executive Chairman of Igando Ikotun LCDA, Hon. Morenike Adesina-Williams, has been accused of allegedly buying a house at No. 16, Obadeyi Street, off Igando Road, Ikotun, for an undisclosed amount and using armed thugs to attack and eject the tenants from the house without giving them any quit notice.

In a report, one of the victims attacked by the thugs named Mrs. Elegbade Mayowa is a nursing mother, who was in the house when the thugs invaded the compound in the evening on Monday at about 6:00pm with arms to maim and destroy.

She narrated that she was in the house when she initially sighted three persons and a carpenter, who started removing doors and destroying toilets, threatening to kill and harm anybody who disturbs the new landlord from taking over the house.

Mrs. Mayowa said when she confronted them to know why they were removing doors and destroying toilets, the exchange of words led to one of them beating her and threatening that they have informed the Police at Area M and she would be arrested. They later mobilised more thugs, who came to the house with arms, looking for the tenants to harm.

Another tenant was allegedly beaten to a pulp because she attempted to use a mobile phone to record what they were doing in the house.

The tenants are now living in fear and do not know where to go with their families because the thugs threatened that they would kill any tenant they find there.

When the Council boss was contacted through her media aide, Eniola Badmus, he reportedly denied, insisting that his principal can never embark on such illegality because she knows the law.

When Eniola was confronted with available facts, he promised to call back but never called again.

Earlier today, the aide issued a release titled: "RE- COUNCIL BOSS, WILLIAMS IN A MESS FOR USING ARMED THUGS TO EJECT TENANTS."

In the statement, he said: "It was brought to our notice the allegation that Council Mayoress Hon. Morenike Adesina Williams of Igando-Ikotun LCDA reinforced thugs to evacuate tenants from a  particular building.

"We want the general public to kindly disregard the news flying around. The Council Chairperson is a law-abiding person who will never be involved in such an inhumane act.

"The scenario is under investigation by the Council Mayoress herself, so we implore us all to disregard such act of violence to humanity. I advice we should stop the blackmailing. It's political..."

Meanwhile, the Police have commenced investigation into the circumstances that would have allegedly led Williams to bring thugs to intimidate, harass, and assault the tenants in order to eject them without due process.
