IN collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, the Igando-Ikotun LCDA recently hosted a two-day employability training programme focused on safe migration and employment opportunities for the council’s youths.
The event, themed "Empower Your Career: Acquire the Skills and Knowledge to Stand Out in the Job Market," took place on October 22 and 23, 2024, at the Igando-Ikotun LCDA Secretariat Hall in Ikotun, Lagos. The training garnered significant interest and motivation among over 100 participating youth.
Speaking after the training, a attendees representative said, “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated Executive Chairman, Comrade Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya, for his unwavering support and commitment to human capital and youth development.
“Special thanks also go to our dynamic Executive Vice-Chairman, Hon. Mojisola Badmus, who represented the Chairman at the event and ensured the programme was meticulously planned to meet participants' needs.
“We are grateful to the Migration Resource Center (MRC) for providing exceptional facilitators who delivered outstanding presentations.”
The programme left the participants with life-changing insights and testimonies. Many expressed their gratitude to the Federal Government for offering this invaluable opportunity, especially during a time of heightened unemployment.
