THE Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon and his team recently hosted representatives from Support to the National Malaria Programme in Nigeria Phase 2 (SUNMaP2) and National Malaria Eradication Programme (NMEP), according to a news release by SA Media to the Executive Chairman, Ayinde Jamiu Kunle.
The SUNMaP2 and NMEP team were on a mission to discuss and chart a way forward towards eliminating malaria with their upcoming programme.
In his response, the Executive Chairman appreciated the team for coming and counting Alimosho worthy of benefiting from the scheme.
He said: "We so much belief in the health of our people. That is why our focus is to bring the health facility closer to the people."
He also appealed for the supply of mosquito-nets, free drugs, education materials and sponsorship of Alimosho residents in medical-related courses to strengthen the medical team.
Hon. Jelili further advocated for the inclusion of traditional medicine into the malaria eradication scheme.
The team included researchers and laboratory scientists, among others. Also present were Hon. Rasheed Abolade, Supervisor for Health; Hon. Taiwo, SSA Health and Dr Odufuwa, Medical Officer of Health.
