THE Lagos State Government gave the Staff of Office to HRM Oba Ajani Akolawole Egundupe, Ilufemiloye 1, the Olu of Ipaja land on Monday, at the seat of power, Alausa, Ikeja.
The people of Ipaja land in Ayobo Ipaja LCDA, Alimosho, were excited as it was also the birthday of the Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Hon. Yusuf Sakiru Adisa and the opening of the newly-built council secretariat.
Hon. Adisa led the team with the latest Kabiyesi to receive the staff of office at the brief ceremony.
Thereafter, the Council Chairman led the Oba into Ipaja with a rousing welcome from the people of the community. The community has been without a king since the demise of their last Kabiyesi.
In a brief ceremony at St Andrew's Primary School, Hon. Yusuf, who is also the Oluomo of Ipaja land, charged the traditional ruler to be mindful of those that stood by him and to make dispassionate decisions that would promote unity and development in the community.
He prayed for the monarch and assured him of his administration's support at all times, promising that elaborate celebration would be planned as soon as permissible.
Dignitaries at the brief ceremony include the Onimeiran of Meiran, Oba Alayeluwa Samuel Awoyemi Oroja; the Vice-Chairperson, who is also a titleholder in Ipaja, Chief (Mrs) Bola Shobowale; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Abiodun Agbaje; the Council-Manager, Mrs Mercy Adeyemi, who led senior management to the event and many others.
