CAF Player of the Year, Victor Osimhen, has declared that the Super Eagles are ready to conquer the rest of Africa at the 2023 AFCON tournament.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be aiming for a fourth crown when the tournament starts next year in January at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Having suffered a shocking knockout in the Round of 16 two years ago in Cameroon, the Napoli striker insists that the West Africans can challenge for the title this time around.
“We are ready and preparing very well. The squad is in high spirits. We are raring to go and hope that we shall do well there,” Osimhen told CAF Media.
Nigeria will face Equatorial Guinea in their opening fixture at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on January 14, 2024.
