FORMER Chelsea defender, Jason Cundy, would be among the people who won't be happy if Argentina World Cup winner, Lionel Messi wins his eighth Ballon d’Or award.
Lionel Messi is among the players who can potentially take home the football's Most Prestigious Award, the Ballon d’Or as rumours have also surfaced that the Argentine has been contacted to get ready to receive the award.
Cundy, who represented Chelsea 41 times in the Premier League before moving on to Tottenham, Ipswich, and Portsmouth believes that Messi should not win the Ballon d’Or.
The ex-England international speaking on talkSPORT said: “I think if Haaland doesn't win it [the Ballon d'Or], it's a disgrace. I think it's a disgrace; Messi will win it because he won the World Cup.”
Manchester City’s forward, Erling Haaland, is among the footballers who will be contesting for the Ballon d’Or award as the Norwegian won the treble (UEFA Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup) with Manchester City last season.
