Kylian Mbappe unveiled as Real Madrid player

REAL Madrid has officially unveiled Frenchman, Kylian Mbappe as their player at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Madrid.

This comes after the 25-year-old 2018 World Cup winner completed his free transfer from Ligue 1 club, Paris Saint-Germain after his contract expired.

Mbappe, upon unveiling, will wear the icon No 9 jersey, which was famously worn by legends of the club, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Ronaldo, Javier Saviola, and Roberto Soldado.

Speaking during his unveiling, Mbappe noted that he didn't do well during the Euro 2024 as he intends to take a break and go on holiday to recharge ahead of next season.

“In football, you’re good or not good. I wasn’t good. My Euro was a failure,” he said.

“‘I wanted to be European champion. I will now go on holiday, I will rest well, it will do me a lot of good, then I will get ready to start a new life. There’s a lot to do,” he added.

Mbappe scored one goal at the just concluded Euro 2024, which came in a penalty against Poland in the group stage as France were knocked out in the semi-finals to eventual winners Spain.
