Amorim explains why he loaned out Rashford

MANCHESTER United manager, Ruben Amorim has explained why Marcus Rashford had to leave the Premier League club during the January transfer window.

Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season as the club will pay up to 75% of his wages and have the option to make the deal permanent for £40 million.

Amorim explained that he had to loan Marcus Rashford out because he couldn’t get through to him to play and train the way he wanted.

“What I say is, I couldn’t put Marcus to see the way you’re supposed to play football and to train the way I see it,” Amorim said.

“And sometimes, you have one player who is really good with one coach, and the same player with another coach is different. I just wish the best to Rashford and Unai Emery, and I hope they can connect because he’s a very good player,” he added.

Rashford, who scored the first goal of Amorim’s era at United in a 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town in November, could make an appearance for Aston Villa on Sunday in the FA Cup game against Tottenham.
