Truck loaded with metal bars falls off at Abule Egba

A  truck loaded with metallic bars fell off yesterday night at Abule-Egba, spilling its fuel tank contents all over the road at about 8:15 pm, according to a confirmation report reaching AlimoshoToday from officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

As at 9:00 am this morning, the truck with still lying there at Salolo Junction, inwards Abule-Egba, blocking 60 per cent of the road and creating an unprecedented gridlock for commuters in the area.

When  AlimoshoToday visited the scene, it was discovered that the truck had no number plate. It was also gathered that the cause of the fall-off was a centre bolt problem which forced the truck down after losing its equilibrium.
 
LASTMA's report gathered few minutes ago says: "The truck at Salolo has centre bolt problem and a mechanic is now on ground, working on it."

The LASTMA report confirming the accident said: "There's a fallen loaded truck after Salolo inwards Abule-Egba. Officials are in place for effective management."

When AlimoshoToday contacted LASTMA officials to confirm if the truck has been evacuated, their response says: "The reported fallen truck at Salolo inwards Abule Egba is still there.

According to them:  "Another truck is being awaited for transloading and LASTMA Officers are on ground to manage traffic."
