THE Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing the Alimosho Constituency II, Hon. Kehinde Olaide Joseph has joined fellow Nigerians to commemorate the nation’s 64th Independence Day anniversary.
In his independence message today Tuesday, October 1, 2024, Kehinde Joseph said: “Fellow compatriots, as we gather to celebrate our nation's 64th independence anniversary, I, Hon. Kehinde Olaide Joseph, the holder of your mandate in the Lagos State House of Assembly, extend warm felicitations to you all. This milestone presents an opportunity to reflect on our journey, acknowledge our progress, and recommit to our collective aspirations. Despite the myriad challenges and difficulties confronting us, I firmly believe there is every reason to celebrate our independence.
“With unity of purpose, unwavering commitment, selfless sacrifice, hard work, and unshakeable patriotism, we shall overcome our current struggles. Our resilience and determination have always defined us as a people. While it may seem bleak now, I'm optimistic that Nigerians will soon smile as the fruits of the structures being put in place by the present APC-led administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu begin to manifest. These efforts will stimulate economic growth, improve livelihoods, and enhance our national prosperity.
“I call on all leaders, irrespective of political affiliation, to join hands in rebuilding our country for the betterment of future generations. History has shown that nations can overcome tumultuous periods and achieve greatness through a commitment to democracy, inclusive governance, and building a prosperous nation. As leaders, we must make the necessary sacrifices to help take our country out of the present economic challenges and build a strong economy. The Lagos State House of Assembly, under the leadership of our Speaker, Rt. Hon (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, has been committed to passing legislations that help address our economic quagmire, promote investment, and stimulate entrepreneurship.
“Democracy offers us liberty and freedom to realise our God-given talents and potentials, which can be harnessed to build a greater society. We must continue to nurture and strengthen our democratic institutions, ensuring they serve the interests of all Nigerians. As we celebrate this milestone, let us honour the sacrifices of our founding fathers, who fought tirelessly for our independence. Let us draw inspiration from their vision, courage, and perseverance.
