THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa has celebrated the youths in the council area as the world celebrates the Year 2024 International Youth Day.

In his goodwill message to the LCDA youths on Monday, August 12, 2024, Famuyiwa wrote: “Dear young folks, the International Youth Day, celebrated on August 12 of every year is a day to recognise your importance, acknowledge your inherent qualities and potentials, as well as raise awareness that you hold the key to shape the world's future.

This year’s theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways to Sustainable Development depicts that youths are largely recognised as digital natives, utilising innovation to drive change and create solutions, hence the need to concur with this year's theme.

“My administration is committed to providing opportunities for young people to ensure they are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also today's change agents. We know our policies and programmes affect our youth and we will keep trying our best to make the best decisions for our teeming youths.

“I urge you to always remember that today’s youths are tomorrow’s leaders. Therefore, use your voices at the forefront of advocating for societies to advance and improve, whether on issues of human rights, technology, climate change, or healthcare wisely.

“On behalf of my family, the Government and the good people of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, I take this opportunity to wish our young folks a happy International Youth Day. I celebrate your energetic spirit and ability to improve the future of humanity.

“God bless you.”
