PREMIER League club, Manchester United have made their intentions known to Bayern Munich as they look to bring defender, Matthijs De Ligt to the Manchester side of England.

Following Raphael Varane's United exit, Erik Ten Hag's team are on the lookout for a new and experienced centre-back, which they happen to see in the 24-year-old former Ajax star.

The personal deal is not a problem for both sides as De Ligt, who made his breakthrough at Ajax as a 17-year-old back in 2016, will be handed a five-year contract from United and his former manager, Erik Ten Hag.

While talks over his future will continue in the coming days and weeks, De Ligt is currently out in Germany with the Netherlands squad at Euro 2024 as he awaits his first appearance in the competition.

United have also shown interest in England defender, Jarrad Branthwaite but will only go back in for the player if Everton are willing to come down in their asking price.
