Manchester City pulls out of Declan Rice pursuit

MANCHESTER City have made it known that they won't be entering a bidding war with Arsenal over the pursuit of West Ham United midfielder, Declan Rice.

Both clubs have shown interest in the 24-year-old England international and have submitted various bids to bring the player to their sides. Man City's last bid was in the region of £90M, which was rejected as Arsenal's bid of £105M seems to be the deal breaker.

It is not surprising that Pep Guardiola’s side has pulled out of the pursuit as they have done in recent times when they are involved in a bidding war with another club.

In 2018, the City were negotiating a deal to sign Jorginho from Napoli but pulled out due to an increase in price leading Chelsea to sign the midfielder instead. In 2019, City were keen on bringing Harry Maguire to the club but also found Leicester's asking price of £80m to be out of it, which saw the defender eventually move to Manchester United instead.

Arsenal will be looking to close the deal on Kai Harvetz from Chelsea and Jurrien Timber from Ajax within the next few days and hopefully add the West Ham captain to the list of incoming players.
