Cristiano Ronaldo hit 900 career goals

PORTUGAL and Al Nassr forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to make history as he hit his 900 career goal for club and country.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star scored the 900th goal of his career from a tap-in at point-blank range from Nuno Mendes’ perfect cross in Portugal’s 2-1 win over Croatia in Lisbon on Thursday.

Speaking after the match against Croatia, Cristiano Ronaldo said (via Fabrizio Romano): “900 goals seem like any other milestone, but only I know how hard it is to work every day to score your 900th goal.

“It’s a unique milestone in my career. I don’t break records… they haunt me!”

According to TalkSport, Ronaldo has scored 900 goals in 1,236 games since his professional career began in 2001, making him the top scorer in football history.

His closest rival, Lionel Messi, has netted 838 goals in 1,069 games since 2003. Josef Bican, who played from 1931 to 1956, scored over 805 goals in more than 530 games.
