THE Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area on December 6, 2024, held the graduation ceremony of its bakery empowerment programme tagged “Be a Baker Initiative" at the council Secretariat. This initiative, which an NGO called Bakery Initiative Nigeria supported, was designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the baking industry and provide them with the support and resources needed to start their own businesses and reduce unemployment in society.

The graduating trainees, who were presented with a certificate of completion, were also empowered with basic bakery tools and equipment like flour mixers, gas cylinders, ovens, gas stoves etc.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. Shobowale, who was represented by the SLG, Hon. Prince Rotimi Akinniyi, commended all the participants for their commitment and hard work during the training. He implored them not to relent in the spirit of entrepreneurship, contributing positively to the local economy and the Ayobo-Ipaja community.

He further encouraged the graduates to pursue their baking dreams with a determination to succeed in their endeavours.

In the same vein, the Council’s Manager, Mr Saheed Babatunde, corroborated that this initiative reflected an unwavering commitment to fostering opportunities that will uplift community members, as this will represent a step towards self-reliance and financial independence for all participants.
