AS part of the 11-day programme for the second-term inauguration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, the Governor on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, commissioned the newly reconstructed Akesan-Obadore road in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of the Alimosho LGA.
As of press time, residents of the area trooped out in their numbers, dressed in colourful attires to welcome the Governor and his entourage.
The commissioning, which is coming two years after approval was given for the take-off of the road, has brought relief to residents, who before now passed through pains to go through that route to their various destinations.
Among other things, the benefits of the road, which is in line with the THEMES Agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration, would be to link the densely populated Akesan Community with the LASU-Iba road and open up motorable access to the Akesan Community.
Also, it was to abate flooding, thereby improving the environmental status of the Akesan Community and also enhance the value of properties in the areas.
