Lagos State Primary Health Care Board holds mass vaccination campaign in Igando-Ikotun LCDA

THE Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, in collaboration with the Lagos State Health District 1 and Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, is launching a mass vaccination campaign against yellow fever, measles, and human papillomavirus (HPV).

This initiative aims to safeguard the health and well-being of residents, particularly children and young adults.

The mass vaccination campaign targets specific age groups for each vaccine. Those eligible for vaccination include everyone aged 9 months to 44 years for the Yellow Fever Vaccine, children aged 9 months to 59 months for the Measles Vaccine, and girls aged 9 to 14 years for the HPV Vaccine. Additionally, children aged 0 to 23 months will receive routine immunisation against childhood killer diseases.

These vaccines are safe, effective, and free. Vaccination provides lifelong protection against yellow fever, prevents cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases, and protects against measles, a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening illness.

The mass vaccination campaign runs from Saturday, October 19, to Saturday, November 2, 2024, at all primary health centres, schools, churches, mosques, playing grounds, Wards, and communities in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, by 7:00 AM daily.
