The Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Hon. Morenike Adesina-Williams has presented the "Budget of Socio-Economic Prosperity" for Y2021 to the Legislative Arm of the Council.
In her address to the Council Leader and Councillors / Members of the Legislature, she assured them that the budget was prepared in accordance with the laid-down rules and wide consultation with stakeholders.
After highlighting some of the challenges and the reason for the budget, she said: "I want you to note that this year's Budget Retreat will promote a vision and guidance on what we hope to achieve in this 2021 – how, when, where and what?
"From the foregoing you can see our various efforts at a glance as our Budget Performance for last year was 67per cent. Though not a bad attempt, we hope to do better this year. As you are aware that the pandemic impacted negatively on the general budget implementation, we have designed strategies for a better outcome this year.
"On this note, I crave your indulgence for the usual support, understanding and cooperation for an accelerated hearing to fast-track the domestication of various bye-laws, as these bye-laws serve as catalysts for enhanced budget implementation. We need your assistance in this direction.
"My Hon. Leader and members of the legislature, once again, I promise you that this administration shall not betray the confidence reposed in us, as we shall continually strive to deliver the dividends of democracy to our citizens through the implementation of far-reaching programs and projects.
"In conclusion, I want to thank you for past collaborations which have been highly-rewarding and beneficial to the cause of this administration."
