FRSC launches "ember” month campaign in Igando-Ikotun LCDA

THE Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has launched its annual ‘Ember’ month campaign at the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of the Alimosho LGA, with the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, performing the flag-off at Ororo Hall by Governor Road, Ikotun, last Thursday.

During the event, Akinsanya thanked the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Mr Emmanuel Ekwo, for his numerous initiatives that have complemented the State’s efforts in ensuring safety on Igando-Ikotun roads.287c

Speaking on the year’s campaign, Akinsanya said that there is an anticipated increase in the movement of persons and goods, especially in the South-West during the last quarter of the year.

Akinsanya said that such movements were usually characterised by recklessness and other infractions on the part of motorists, which in turn lead to road traffic crashes, resulting in injuries, as well as loss of lives and property. He urged commuters to fully cooperate with the special marshals, who had been strategically deployed for special operations during the season.287d

He advised commuters to insist on healthy nutrition, regular exercise, and minimal alcohol and tobacco intake for the sake of their mental health.

Akinsanya thanked the FRSC for the enlightenment and pledged commitment to an accident-free season.

Meanwhile, Mr Emmanuel Ekwo, Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has charged all road users to be vigilant while in transit to avoid crashes on the highways across the country.
