THE Lagos State Lands Bureau has recently held a stakeholders’ meeting with residents of the Egan-Akesan community in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of the Alimosho Local Government Area.
The meeting, which aimed to address concerns regarding illegal structures within designated Government residential schemes, was held through the Lands Bureau's Land Use and Allocation Committee (LUAC) with a focus on how to audit untitled properties within these Government schemes.
While speaking, Dr (Mrs) Ololade Ajetumobi, the Executive Secretary of the Land Use and Allocation Committee, highlighted the Lagos State Government's commitment to ensuring all properties are properly titled to prevent them from becoming dead assets.
The Executive Secretary, represented by Mr Mukthar Alawaye, a Director from LUAC, further urged residents to actively support efforts aimed at enforcing compliance with regulations.
During the interactive session, community members had the opportunity to engage with Government officials, seek clarification on the initiative, and share their perspectives. Many residents, who had previously misunderstood the Government’s intentions, expressed their appreciation for the initiative and acknowledged the importance of maintaining order and proper land titling in their community.
