THE Executive Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya has tasked the council area’s Muslims with peaceful co-existence and prayer as they celebrate the Year 2024 Eid-el-Kabir festival.
The council Boss's goodwill message to the Muslim constituents read: “On this faithful day, I call on Muslims to imbibe the culture of the rule of law, peaceful co-existence, and selfless service so that Igando-Ikotun can emerge a great community.
“Through total obedience and selfless sacrifice, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, the faithful would receive abundant blessings and favour from the Almighty Allah.
“The unconditional obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as commanded by Allah and the teachings of the Holy Qur’an offer guidance on how a country undergoing many challenges can emerge better and stronger.”
“Therefore, the importance of Eid-el-Kabir should not be lost on us as Muslims even as we count our blessings and celebrate the goodness of Allah in our lives.
“Let us demonstrate love to our neighbours, promote peaceful coexistence in our various communities, and pray fervently for Nigeria.
“Congratulations to the entire Muslim Ummah and wishing you a happy celebration.”
