THE recently completed Idimu-Ejigbo Road in Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Alimosho local council has been finally re-opened for public use after about six weeks of total closure, AlimoshoToday can confirm.
The road which underwent a major maintenance was reopened on Monday morning, as workers of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) began to clear the accumulated debris.
When contacted by AlimoshoToday, the Second Vice Chairman of Egbe-Idimu Community Development Association (CDA) Prince Shakiru Akerele Yusuff, said: "We thank God that the road has finally been opened. As I've said before it has claimed the lives of many, including a young school girl of Olorunfunmi Junior Grammar School who was killed on this road by flood. We are happy about the reopening."
He also pleaded: "We want the government to do more. Look at the other side of the road which the association of 'keke Marwa', tricycle drivers managed to patch, it has began to open up again. One victory comes, another battle begins. We appeal to the government to assist us to fix that side also."
