THE Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, has urged all residents of the State to protect their environment from those who hide behind the mask of #ENDSARS protests to unleash mayhem and commit horrendous atrocities against the good people of Lagos.
This is contained in a short video broadcast in Yoruba language, released on Friday through the social media handle of Lagos Traffic Radio.
Hamzat said that the protest, which started with the intention to put an end to police brutality, was later hijacked by hoodlums and other groups who have hidden agenda to destroy the heritage and development of Lagos State.
He said: “When this protest started, the Governor intervened, addressed the protesters and also submitted their requests to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“But now, it is glaring that the protest has been hijacked by enemies of the State who have the intention to loot and destroy people's hard-earned investments."
“Properties destroyed include Lagos State Government newly acquired BRT buses, King’s Palace, Courts, major heritage and so on."
“We should not allow people from other states to destroy our Lagos," the Deputy Governor begged Lagosians.
He also appealled to everyone living in Lagos to be vigilant and ensure their community is protected against hoodlums who have the intention to loot people’s property and destroy lives in the State.
