THE Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 10-year-old girl for being in possession of hard drugs.
According to media reports, the girl who was intercepted in the Agege area of the State claimed she had been a drug courier for her aunt in the last two months.
She narrated how she carried the drug daily from home to the shop to evade arrest by security operatives.
The Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, said the minor claimed her mother hid the suspected hard drugs on her to beat a police checkpoint.
“We found the girl roaming on the streets. She was carrying drugs in her pant. She said it was her mother that puts it there so that she can beat police checkpoint.
“We interviewed the girl and later handed her over to her relatives,” Hundeyin said.
