SENIOR Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Hon. Joke Orelope-Adefulire, has put a smile on the faces of Orelope Street residents as she recently rehabilitated their road.

Speaking with AlimoshoToday, a resident who simply identified himself as Jacob, said the government came at the appropriate time to bring relief to the residents of the area,

"I am glad we don't have to call on the government or anyone before it is repaired", he added.

An elderly woman selling corn and resident on Orelope street for over 20 years, was equally excited at the new development. She claimed the road had been in a very horrible form.

"And now that the repair is being done, I am happy because the irritating dust usually caused by the bad road would be a thing of the past," she said.

A Community Leader in Alimosho Local Government Area and the Vice Chairman of Orelope Landlords Association, Mr Sulaimon Adedapo, who has lived on Orelope Street for over 30 years, told AlimoshoToday:

"Every time the road is repaired, we enjoy it. The residents enjoy it before it deteriorates again. We are happy that it is being repaired again. As construction is ongoing, Orelope residents are happy that the road is being repaired.

"This road is a very good road and it is an access route to many roads in the area like Shasha, Bameke, Idimu, Karimu Laka, Olugbede and many others."

When asked who the credit for the new road is to be accorded, Mr Sulaimon answered:

"This project was commissioned by the Federal Government and the person who brought this project to reality is Hon. Joke Orelope-Adefulire. We thank her so much for the beautiful things she has been doing in Alimosho area.

"To mention a few, she constructed roads on Orelope Street, Adenrele Street, Tayo-Kehinde Street, Remi Akande, Bassey Street, Duduyemi and others.

These roads were constructed and rehabilitated by her. She tried a lot for the people and Egbeda as a whole. We pray to God to spare her life so that we will see more of this."
