BEAUTY AND SYMBOLS OF CULTURAL WEAR (l): Benue cultural attires, symbols.

THE beautiful people of Benue State possess a rich and diverse cultural heritage, which finds expression through their colourful traditional wear.

They embrace harmony and express it through the general cultural traditional wear which comprises all the cultural attire in one piece with Green and White stripes on it.

The Green and White symbolise Nigeria and show they are harmonious people who hail from Nigeria.

The Black and Red attire represents the Idoma people. The black stripes signify the earth and burial shroud, while the Red Signifies Royalty and Red Feathers. And it can be worn to any occasion.

Next is the TIV people, who are represented with Black and White attire. The black stripes signify they are Africans, and the white signifies they are peaceful and accommodating individuals.

The last is the Igede people, who are represented with Black, Blue and White. The black signifies agriculture, the blue signifies love, and the white signifies peace.
