Famuyiwa felicitates Agbado Oke-Odo teachers on World Teachers Day

THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa has felicitated teachers in the council area as they celebrate the Year 2024 World Teachers' Day.

His congratulatory message on October 5, read: “Today, I join the world to celebrate our iconic tutors who have, over the years, continued to impart us with their unwavering efforts, dedication, and hard work.  I must commend you all for your immense contributions to nation-building. It would not be an overstatement for me to say that we have all enjoyed the mentorship and benefitted immensely from the services of teachers to attain our present statuses in life.

“A good and dutiful teacher is not just a person who teaches academic lessons but one who mentors and helps the learner in each sphere of his life. I am not unmindful of the importance of quality education in managing the socio-political and economic challenges in our society.

“Teachers are the heart and soul of our Nation. They care for both old and young, pass on knowledge to rising generations, and inspire our children to dream of new possibilities for their future. Indeed, the power of a great teacher is profound, and I say a very big thank you for your tireless efforts.

“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, I rejoice with all the teachers in Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA and across the globe. I urge them to keep at it and not relent in the tasks of rebuilding, nurturing, and imparting our children until their good becomes better and their better turns best.

“Happy Celebration!”
