THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon.David Famuyiwa has announced a ban on the display of wares by the roadside and pedestrian walkways in the council area. This, according to him is a measure to ensure safety amongst the traders and buyers.
He made this known through the Vice-Chairman and Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Ajoke Moromoke Aminat Obe, who led a sensitisation team around the council area recently.
He further stated that the move is in the interest of all residents, as the safety of the citizens remains a priority to his Government. It is, therefore, necessary for all concerned to work with the Government to end this unsafe practice. He also emphasised that there is nobody from the Local Government collecting levies from anyone.
This directive has become pertinent given increasing traffic jams and security breaches along market corridors, with vehicular and pedestrian traffic now contending for space amid trading activities in the same spots.
He, therefore, warned everyone trading along the road and walkway to relocate immediately to avoid the full wrath of the law as the task force would commence operation with immediate effect.
