Famuyiwa encourages Agbado Oke-Odo residents to utilize PHC centres

THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa has urged residents to take advantage of the Primary Health Care centres to manage the risks of diseases, such as the current cholera outbreak to forestall untimely death. 

He made this known during his tour across some of the Primary Health Centres in the LCDA.158c

According to him, “The strengthening of Primary Health Care is the strategy of this Government to achieve universal health coverage, noting that it is a veritable tool to reduce the burden of diseases and tackle health challenges in the community.” He added that two health centres were commissioned last year to complement the existing ones, stressing that his administration is geared towards strengthening the delivery of quality and affordable healthcare for every resident. 

"We have enhanced the capacity of personnel and are providing quality healthcare infrastructure to encourage more people to visit our health facilities and enrol for regular medical checkups", he confirmed.159c

He also reiterated that the community’s well-being is his top priority, assuring access to essential healthcare needs through Primary Health Care centres to support long and healthy lives for residents, as well as, ensuring that both young and old have the right to good healthcare system that is available, accessible and affordable, as he continues to collaborate with stakeholders to support his Government through enlightenment campaigns that encourage people to adopt healthy behaviours that limit the risk of untimely death.

He further established the need for more collaborations and support from NGOs and stakeholders in strengthening advocacy campaigns on the importance of regular medical checkups by residents to detect early signs and management of diseases.
