PSG winger, Ousmane Dembele was dropped from the team squad that played Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League fixture on Tuesday.
According to PSG manager, Luis Enrique, the decision to drop Dembele for the trip to Arsenal in the Champions League was due to a “lack of respect” from the player.
Enrique explained that the consequence of his actions of not respecting the team was to be left out of the game at the Emirate Stadium, which resulted in a 2-0 loss.
“If someone doesn’t comply or respect the expectations of the team, it means they are not prepared to play,” Enrique said.
“The match is very important and I want all my players to be ready, so as a consequence, I have left him [Dembele] out.
“I want the best for my team and that is my job,” he added.
It remains unknown the extent of his punishment if he would be left out of only the game or there will be more in store for the player when they return to Paris.
Dembele has scored four goals this season for the Ligue 1 giants.
