SUPER Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala has urged her teammates to find a way to start getting the ball into the back of the net following a 1-0 loss to Spain at the 2024 Olympics.
Alexia Putellas’ brilliant late free-kick was enough to separate both teams in a tightly contested Group C tie at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes on Sunday.
The Super Falcons couldn’t convert their chances in the game against Spain as they had a similar problem in their opening fixture against Brazil, which they also lost 1-0.
“We played against the world champions and we had our chances, we had opportunities to score Spain," the Bay FC striker said after the game.
“I think the same thing happened to us in the first game. We were not clinical upfront. I think if we start scoring goals we can compete with any team in the world,” she added.
For the final Group stage game, The Falcons will play Japan at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes, in France on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 4 PM Nigerian time and will be available on Supersport.
