MANCHESTER United have terminated Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassadorial deal with the club.

The club, under the new ownership of INEOS, are looking to rebuild since they took over and one of their aims is to delete unnecessary expenses.

Ferguson, a familiar sight in the Old Trafford Director’s box for years, signed an agreement with United in 2013 to be a club ambassador, receiving 2.16 million pounds ($2.82m) yearly.

INEOS has decided to terminate the contract of the former manager, who will step down from his ambassadorial duties at the end of the season as part of cost-saving measures at the club, which has been incurring losses for some time.

Reports also suggest that SAF will be allowed limited access to the first team dressing room as the club has reportedly introduced a new policy limiting access to the dressing room.

Ferguson led United to 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League and two Champions League titles, before he retired from management in 2013.
