CHELSEA secured their final group stage win of the Champions League this season with a 2-1 win against Dinamo Zagreb, as they advanced to the knockout stages of the competition.
Bruno Petkovic was the first on the score sheet as he gave the visitors a lead at Stamford Bridge, but Raheem Sterling cancelled out the effort before Denis Zakaria put Chelsea ahead yet again, with a debut goal.
Despite Denis Zakaria's performance, the Man of the Match award was given to fellow teammate, Mason Mount who was surprised that the award didn't go to the summer signing, Denis Zakaria.
"The lads have been battering me the last couple of games I’ve got Man of the Match as they don’t think I deserved it, but today I don’t think I deserve it!
"Denis Zakaria came in and was unbelievable. He deserves the Man of the Match more than me, and he scored as well! To step up after not playing, and starting the game, was brilliant. I’m very happy for him to get this opportunity and to do so well," Mount said
Chelsea will be hosting age-long rivals, Arsenal on Sunday, November 6, 2022, as they would want to pick up a win against the Gunners who sit top of the Premier League table.
The blues would be hoping to recover from a 4-1 loss to Brighton last Saturday and place a dent in Arsenal’s Premier League campaign.
