Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, has been arrested on Friday following his involvement in a fight in Greece.
Maguire, 27, was seen fighting with another group of Englishmen outside a bar in Mykonos.
The disturbing incident was what prompted a local resident to call the police.
According to Greek Newspaper, œma, "when the police intervened to stop the quarrel, three people from a group of Englishmen attacked them (the policemen) verbally and using physical violence."
As a result, the police brought the three Englishmen – among them the Manchester United central defender – to Mykonos Police Station.
Right there, however, "the three suspects continued to provoke while attacking and beating two police officers, resulting in their arrest", the Greek newspaper stated.
United have said they have made contact with Maguire, who is "fully cooperating with authorities".
“The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night,” the club said in a statement. “Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully cooperating with the Greek authorities. “At this time we will be making no further comment.”
