ARSENAL's Manager, Mikel Arteta has responded to questions on why he substituted Bukayo Saka in the goalless draw against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday.
The Gunners held on as they ensured they left City’s home ground with a point in yesterday's game, but Bukayo Saka was unable to finish the game as he was substituted in the 78th minute, which raised questions on whether the player was injured.
Mikel Arteta speaking after the 0-0 draw assured that the player was not injured, but instead was feeling fatigued as he only trained one day before the match.
“Nothing serious. As you know, he has been out for a few weeks now with a little problem.
“He was feeling fatigued. He only trained one day before the match. He had a big contribution, but it was a lot, 90 minutes for him today,” Arteta said.
The Gunners are now second in the league with two points behind league leaders, Liverpool and would need to return to winning ways when they play Luton on Wednesday to put pressure on the Reds.
