THE Premier League released nominees for Young Player of the Season Award today, but it has since caused some disagreement among football lovers who complained that the likes of Arsenal golden boy Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Manchester City young star Phil Foden were not on the list.
The list of nominees include Trent Alexander Arnold of Liverpool Jack Grealish of Aston Villa, Mason Greenwood of Manchester United, Dean Henderson of Sheffield United, Anthony Martial of Manchester United, Mason Mount of Chelsea, Christian Pulisic of Chelsea and Marcus Rashford of Manchester United.
@ATCMax9 tweeted: "I’m not saying he should win, but the fact that Bukayo Saka hasn’t even been nominated for the YPOTS shows how much the media hates Arsenal. 18 years old and playing incredibly in several positions. Surely he deserves a spot in the top 8?"
@JamesBenge tweeted: "Jack Grealish turns 25 next month. Anthony Martial in December. Both have had great seasons but they're not young players anymore. And yes, it's a bit weird that Bukayo Saka isn't on this list."
@Daily cannon also tweeted: "Absolute state of the @premierleague leaving out Saka. 18 with 39 appearances, four goals and 11 assists. I hope he picks Nigeria. Bukayo Saka as a choice to pick either playing for England or Nigeria at an international level."
