THE UEFA Champions League Round of 16 teams have been confirmed as PSG, Real Madrid, and Benfica secure their spots in the next stage.
UEFA switched up the format of the competition, changing it to a league phase that had 36 clubs. This introduced a play-off round for the Round of 16, which has seen some top teams exit the competition early.
Arsenal, Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, Leverkusen, Lille and Liverpool already secured their spots earlier by finishing in the top 8.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain, Club Brugge, Feyenoord, PSV, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Benfica booked their place in the last-16 via playoff wins.
The ties for the Round of 16 will be played on March 4 and March 5 with the return legs being held on March 11 and March 12.
At this stage, teams from the same league can play each other, as well as teams who have already played each other in the group stage, which had not always been the case.
