IN preparation for the forthcoming 2021 local government elections, the Executive Chairman, Mosan-Okunola Local Community Development Area, Honourable (Princess) Olabisi Adebajo, on August 6, received the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Honourable Justice Ayotunde Phillips.
The chairman was represented by Dr Bunmi Omoseyinde, Olori Shekinat Famakinwa, both Commissioners. Mr Fasu Ayedun, Prof. Gabriel Babawale, Dr Lawal, Mrs Sinat Fadipe and other senior members of staff from the Commission were also in attendance.
Vice-Chairman, Honourable Dayo Oshinawo, Council Treasurer Mrs Nurat Adegboye, Leader of the House, Honourable Olasunkanmi Adefioye and Honorable Members, Secretary to the Local Government Honourable Ayo Orimolade, Electoral Officer Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Mr A.K. Lawal, the Supervisory Counsellors and all other staff also graced the visit.
Speaking earlier, Dr Omoseyinde charged the Council Chairman on a befitting office for the LASIEC, noting that preparations must be in top gear for next year's election. He also noted that the date of the election is yet to be fixed.
The Council Chairman, Honourable (Princess) Olabisi Adebajo, thanked and applauded the LAISEC officials' visitation, saying all necessary actions and preparations will be duly carried out.
Dr Omoseyinde afterwards presented the Electoral Law and other documents to the Council Chairman.
