Igando-Ikotun LCDA hosts pupils and students on International Literacy Day

Council boss tasks students on developing good reading culture.

COMRADE Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, the Igando-Ikotun LCDA Chairman, today, admonished students in Igando-Ikotun to commit themselves into the good habit of reading and writing.

The Council boss' words of wisdom for the community students was passed during an event organized to mark the International Literacy Day as it is celebrated across the world today.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Akinsanya said that the local government organized the event to celebrate primary and secondary school students.

“This initiative is powered by the Association for Formidable Education Development, AFED, through the AFED National Vice Chairman Mrs Omoye Omoye and it will go a long way to assist the students improve their performances in national examinations such as NECO, JAMB among others,” Akinsanya said during the program.

The Council mayor also lauded the initiative and encouraged the students from the invited schools to take their studies seriously in order to achieve their dreams and set goals.

Bags and Textbooks were distributed to all the students in attendance.
