THE Institute of Planning Nigeria (IPN) has conferred upon the Executive Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, and his Vice-Chairman, Hon. Mojisola Badmus Ayinke, with the title of Honorary Fellows of the Institute for their monumental achievements as exceptional leaders whose contributions have significantly shaped Igando-Ikotun’s development.
Information reaching AlimoshoToday states that the investiture ceremony took place during the 2024 Annual Planner's Conference in Edo State, while the Award was presented at the council Secretariat, recently.
In her address, Mrs Gbadamosi Judith (Registrar of IPN), emphasised the importance of the Fellows’ role in upholding the integrity of the institute.
She said: “Fellowship of the Institute of Planning Nigeria is not only an honour and title but also a responsibility. Your conduct from now on will be an excellent confirmation of this honour and award.”
Mrs Gbadamosi further urged Akinsanya and Badmus to lead by example, noting that “Nothing must be done that will tarnish the image of the Institute or the Planning profession.”
She stated, “Being honoured with the Fellowship of the Institute of Planning Nigeria is not just an honour but a profound responsibility.”
On his part, Akinsanya expressed his gratitude to the IPN for recognising the efforts being made in Igando-Ikotun.
“We thank the Institute of Planning Nigeria for recognising the efforts we are making in our community.
“The notice for this Honorary Fellowship came to me as a surprise. I see it as a call to do more in promoting the Institute of Planning Nigeria.
“This award has charged me to contribute more to the development of the community,” he said.
