COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Ayuba reassures Isheri-Oshun community of Government intervention

THE member of the House of Representatives representing the people of the Alimosho Federal Constituency, Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba (Mayor K.K.) has reiterated his commitment to better and bountiful dividends of democracy to the people of his Constituency. 

Ayuba gave this assurance at the stakeholders meeting of the Igbo Eletu Community Development Association (CDA), White-Sand, Isheri-Oshun Town in the Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Lagos State.
 
The stakeholders meeting, which was held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, had in attendance the officials of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources on the construction of concrete drainage channels to bring an end to the environmental degradation experienced by people of the area.
 
While appreciating the stakeholders for their support during the electioneering period, Ayuba said the All Progressives Congress, APC, Government led by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu, through their efforts and other stakeholders, intervened in ameliorating the needs of the people of the Whitesand Area. 

"One of our Government interventions is the ongoing construction of drainage channels and the motion I moved on the floor of the House of Representatives regarding flood disaster and erosion in the Whitesand area of Isheri-Oshun of Igando-Ikotun LCDA.
 
“I took your complaint to the Government by moving a motion on the floor of the House regarding the flood disaster and erosion in Whitesand, which was followed up with an assessment of the area by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)," he said.
 
Ayuba said the House of Representatives Committee on Environment subsequently held a stakeholders meeting in Abuja with representatives of the Whitesand Area in attendance to find a lasting solution to the environmental defect of the area.
 
He seized the opportunity to urge the officials of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources present at the meeting to complete the ongoing dredging of canals in a bid to bring an end to flooding disasters in some areas of Alimosho Federal Constituency.
 
He appealed to residents of the area to give the Government officials and contractors necessary support during the construction of the concrete drainage system.
 
The pioneer Chairman of Igbo Eletu CDA, Mr Adam-Otite Benson, appreciated Hon. Ayuba for his open-door policy and swift and effective actions to meet the needs of the people.
 
The Director of Construction of the Office of Drainage Services in Lagos State, Engr. Ajadi G. O said the Lagos State Government has put in place necessary measures for the smooth construction and delivery of the drainage system. He sought the support of the people to complete the concrete drainage system.
 
Also at the stakeholders meeting were the Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya; Vice-Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Mrs Mojisola Badmus; Isheri-Oshun APC Ward Chairman, Chief Jimoh Ajose; former Central Chairman of Isale Ijon, Ajaye, and White Sand CDA, Alh. Akeem Oladipupo; Chairman of Igbo Eletu CDA, and Hon. Ilelaboye Kazeem Marshall, among others.
