ALIMOSHO General Hospital, domiciled in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho LGA, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, held the grand final of the year's Nurses' Week anniversary.
A release made available by the hospital's Public Affairs Officer, Mr Oduwaye Oluwakemi, indicated that the event, which was held at the Triage and Oxygen Centre, was an avenue for a one-on-one celebration of the staff in the nursing profession.
Speaking at the event, the MD/CEO of Alimosho General Hospital, Dr Ayodapo Soyinka, expressed delight in the services rendered by the nurses, adding that they are critical ingredients that cannot be undone.
Soyinka stated the significant roles of care, advocacy, and health promotion, among others, played by the staff of the nursing profession in the overall health service delivery.
He, however, advocated for more sacrifices and a change of the negative notions of patients, adding that in line with the theme of the year's celebration, 'Our Nurses, Our Future', he sees nurses going forward, being more vibrant, and filling vacuums even in policy making.
Also speaking, the Head of the Nursing Department, Apex Abiiba Abiodun, appreciated and rejoiced with the nurses for another opportunity to have the year's annual International Nurses' Week celebration joyfully.
Apex Abiiba, in a brief speech, recognised the presence of all the nurses and other guests while also applauding the nurses for their commitment and selfless services to humanity.
