THE Medical Director, Alimosho General Hospital (ALGH) in the Igando-Ikotun area of Alimosho LGA, Dr Ayodapo Soyinka, has enjoined all staff of the hospital to imbibe a positive attitude as part of efforts to enhance service delivery.
Dr Soyinka made the call during the commencement of the hospital’s Attitude Week, a three-day programme with the theme: “Positive Attitude Changes Everything”, held at the facility’s Triage Centre.
He stated that the programme, which is loaded with educative and exciting activities, was designed to expose the workers to the inherent benefit of having a positive attitude to work and interactions with others.
Enjoining the participants to pay maximum attention to the lecture that would be delivered by the Guest Lecturer and Chief Executive Officer of Nederland International, Professor Lere Baale, the Medical Director noted that the renowned Professor has vast experience in organisational transformation and management.
In his lecture, Prof. Baale stated that a hospital is a place of succour. As such, it is imperative for healthcare workers to understand that life is more influenced by individual attitudes.
Baale advised the staff to exhibit good behaviour at all times even when it seems their positive disposition is not acknowledged, maintaining that a positive-minded person will surely be rewarded and that the display of the right attitude will conquer everything.
His words: “Your attitude determines the way you address yourself; don’t talk down on yourself as your attitude drives your motivation. It is also essential to lead yourself effectively before you can do the same to others.”
The Professor encouraged members of staff to imbibe a positive attitude always and be happy with others’ success even in the face of daunting challenges and defeat.
The highlight of the event was a short drama presentation on “Positive and Negative Attitude of Healthcare Workers”, by the staff of the Environment and Domestic Department of the Hospital.
