COMRADE Akinsanya Lasisi, the Chairman of Igando Ikotun LCDA yesterday kicked-off the Akinsanya football competition organized in the council area amidst cheers by youths and football enthusiasts.
The competition, tagged “ Hon. Akinsanya 100 Days In Office Unity Cup” and said to be sponsored by the council boss himself, involves youths from the seven political wards in the council area.
The competition was declared open on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Sansan field.
During the opening match, the communities' representative thanked the Council Chairman for sponsoring the competition, adding that the football tournament was intended to keep the youths busy, help them discover and showcase their talents on.
“Special mention and thanks must be given to Comrade Akinsanya for his love for the youths and for sponsoring the football tournament.
“The aim of the tournament is to keep the youths busy and stay away from societal vices as well as accord them the opportunity to showcase and discover their talents” he said.
The LG boss, however, urged the participating teams to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner during and after the games even as he assured that all the necessary logistics has been put in place to ensure the smooth running of the football tournament.
